Alya Michelson’s FirstGen Program Announces New Spark Grants Program

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Michelson Philanthropies program FirstGen announces the launch of a new Spark Grants program to support immigrant women. More information on the grant parameters and submission process is available here.

A previous grant from FirstGen in May 2021 helped launch Upwardly Global’s Career Skills Program for 28 women in Los Angeles. The program includes personal advising from an experienced career coach, online courses to improve U.S. workplace skills, training and certification opportunities in high-demand fields, and connections to top employers, industry experts, and like-minded professionals.

FirstGen is a program that aims to uplift immigrant women through storytelling that celebrates their contributions and programming that facilitates their pathways to success.
